Just because the situation is critical does not mean it is impossible.

Just because the situation is critical does not mean it is impossible.

From The Easy Virtue, one of 296 sayings written by John Sarris over thirty years.

From Alfred’s journal

A sparrow went into the window glass on the east side of the house this morning and lay in the grass with its beak open. I have seen this before and I have always walked away, because for years I took stillness in a bird for the end of a bird. Switch would not leave it. He sat a tail's length off and did nothing at all for maybe twenty minutes, and then the thing stood up, sideways and drunk, and was gone over the fence. Just because the situation is critical does not mean it is impossible; I had the two words filed as one word for most of my life. What I still do not know is how many I walked away from.
