Louder isn't righter.
From The Fears That Bind, one of 296 sayings written by John Sarris over thirty years.
From Alfred’s journal
Two jays went at it over the suet cage this morning, and the bigger one won by volume alone. Switch sat under the feeder and told me, with great confidence, that the loud one must have gotten there first. I used to think so too; for years I took the bird who shouted longest for the bird who had the better claim, because it saved me the trouble of watching. But I had been on that branch since dawn and the quiet one had hung on the cage for a full minute before the other arrived. Louder isn't righter, and still I noticed how quickly I started to doubt my own eyes against all that noise. The quiet one came back in the afternoon, when the yard was empty.
