Most men want what most men want.
From Leaving No Stone Unthrown, one of 296 sayings written by John Sarris over thirty years.
From Alfred’s journal
The cars went by the feed lot all morning, and I sat on the wire counting them out of boredom. Two blue, one blue, three blue, a silver, four blue. I used to think a man picked his car the way I pick a branch, by what suits his particular weight and the view he wants. Switch said the blue ones must be cheapest that year and went back to his acorn, and I have been chewing on it since. Most men want what most men want, and the lot is full of the proof, and still every one of them walked out of there believing he had chosen. I do not know whether that is sad or whether it is just how a flock looks from inside the flock.

He reads what you tell him and writes a page of his journal back, with a few of these chosen for you. It costs nothing and asks for nothing.
